At last, I have decided to acquire the habit of blogging.
I
figured it would be the same as with journaling; you first have to
throw away a couple of half-filled, neglected notebooks before you
become a 'professional journaler' who makes a record of major and minor
life events on a daily basis.
I
have thrown away several blogs already, so according to my hypothesis
this one should be the bomb. However, there are a few deeper reasons for
this prediction other than trying to break a vicious cycle of
unsuccessful blogs. I am creating this page with the intention of
supplying those who are dear to my heart and also those who simply
happened to stumble upon me in their web wonderings with a steady stream
of updates about my slightly globalized life.
Just
as a teaser, over the next couple of months (and hopefully years, if I
am successful at keeping it alive) this blog will map my trail in at
least six countries on three continents. It may bring notes of joy,
surprise, frustration or homesickness (although by now it is quite hard
to figure out where my actual home is), enlivened with snapshots only
poorly representing the real vibrancy of this journey (that is, if I
manage to get my dreamed-of camera soon).
I
pray that this virtual blabber space will help me stay close to my
friends and family geographically far away by sharing in writing and
pictures what I would otherwise tell you chatting at Starbucks, Lenoir
dining hall or a random bench in downtown Bratislava. I wish to give
credits for this journey to all of you who have been constantly
encouraging me to keep living by faith that all of this will be possible
one day, but primarily to the One who gave me the vision and the grace
to embark on this adventure in the first place.
Please
don't hesitate to comment, email, or even better- visit!- in case of
any questions or concerns, or if you simply want to say hello. It will
be so refreshing to see that you are walking with me in this cyberspace!
Happy reading!
